In COPH I aim to advance the relevance of philosophy,  creative ideas and methods for non-academic partners and companies. I intend to do so by engaging in collaborative projects, and I believe that this advancement would be most beneficial for developing creative solutions to crucial problems. I see COPH as an ideal platform for such a move, and so my aim is to use my experience (Headof the company, Endeux, that promoted philosophical products (2009-2012)) to give COPH the best possibilities for realizing its potential.

In COPH, Kristian’s research focus is on the interdisciplinary field between philosophy and the cognitive sciences, and especially on how this research can be relevant for developing brain-, body-, and cognitive technologies. Kristian is a partner in COPH, but also a PhD-student at the Center for Subjectivity Research (University of Copenhagen) and at the company, the Helene Elsass Center. In his PhD-project he collaborates with neuroscientists, psychologists, and therapist, in order to develop IT-based rehabilitation programs for people with brain damage.

In COPH I want to explore how academic philosophers with different approaches, interests and modes of thinking can work together to create new and radical different solutions, perspectives and methods that can address the increasingly complex problems our society is confronted with. I see COPH as a unique opportunity and platform to research and engage in projects, which can further clarify the potential and necessity of how and why philosophy creatively can and should collaborate within such different areas as art, science, business and politics.

In COPH Martin combines his knowledge, expertise and experience from a business and entrepreneurial career with academic research and philosophical fieldwork. Besides his partnership in COPH Martin owns and runs a creative studio of philosophy. At the studio Martin researches in our human ability to imagine and in the modes in which we create and acquire knowledge. The studio currently develops new creative philosophical projects, services and original solutions to the contemporary problems that arise between knowledge and imagination in society today.
